In 2000, band leader E. Lee Conley re-enlisted in the National Guard and deployed to Baghdad Iraq to serve with BRAVO battery 1/103rd FA. During this time, he wrote the first metal album ever to be written while in a war-zone. Upon returning to RI in 2005, he reunited with a bassist from a former band who formed the group 10 FOLD in his absence. 10 FOLD played the Locobazooka festival before nearly 20,000 people and opened for Disturbed, Black Label Society, Ra, Hatebreed and Brand New Sin. Recently, 10 FOLD is currently putting new music to lyrics written in Baghdad in 2004-5.
Amidst the contrasting landscapes of local scenery, sleazy tourist traps and smokeless bars in Providence, a burgeoning metal scene thrives alongside the overly tanned, the white trash and the elderly. The extremes of the local sunshine and image of perfection projected upon the outside world, contrasted with the gritty reality of the blue collar lifestyle, inspired 10 FOLD to conceptualize the reality of the everyman with their prominent up-coming new metal album "What Comes Around,Goes Around".
When 10 FOLD started, the airwaves were full of bands like Blink 182 and Greenday. At the time, 10 FOLD decided to start a band that would express a different side of emotions. Influenced by a wide range of music, both past and present, the band began perfecting their sound, which has been described as being an aggressive blend of groove-stocked heavy metal and melody-rich rock and roll. Heavy yet catchy, the record is a confident, explosive statement for a freshman recording.
