Oil For Food Program Fraud
[Iraq Track Main Page and Menu]
As mentioned previously in this article, the Oil-For-Food program was set up by the U.N. to allow Iraq to sell
oil while sanctions were still in place, for the purpose of buying goods needed by the Iraqi population to
survive - food, medicine, etc. Through the removal of the regime, it is now know that Saddam Hussein obtained over $10 billion in
illegal revenue by defrauding the program. Some of this money was used to purchase disallowed arms and other military equipment.
Money and oil allocations were used to bribe other countries and foreign diplomats to push for the removal of sanctions and oppose any
military action. Our good friends the French and Russians are at the top of that list.
Perhaps most disturbing is the evidence that some of this activity, directly or indirectly,
went to support terror and/or terrorist entities.
