Man Made Global Warming - The Greatest Lie Ever Told!

Junk science. Scam. Hoax. Hysteria. Myth. Politically motivated. Just a few accurate terms describing one of many wars on American progress. From Al Gore movies to Kyoto to college campuses, along with willing accomplices in media and entertainment, we've been bombarded with doomsday predictions about massive extinction caused by flooding, draught, and a host of other calamities -- all precipitated by our fossil fuel use. Much of the gullible public has fallen pray to this scam, as mass media campaigns fill the airwaves. Billions of dollars come from the global warming lobby, and new carbon taxes are coming our way. With the amount of money being made on this deception, chances are it's not going away any time soon!

Climate Change is now the new buzzword since the "warming" thing really didn't work out, as we've seen record cold temperatures with an increase in glacier ice , and predictions of another ice age.

Certainly we're not going to disprove in one short column the whole farce that human activity - more specifically American activity - is heating the planet to the point of devastation. If you are in that camp, you wouldn't believe anything to the contrary anyway. But, with some good old fashioned common sense backed up by factual analysis, the whole argument falls apart rather quickly. Climate change on earth has been going on since the beginning of time as a naturally occurring cyclical phenomenon. It's even happening on Mars and coincides rather neatly with increases in solar activity.

Would it be a good thing to reduce the amount of pollutants we put into the air? Of course! Do we want to use less oil to decrease our dependency on terrorist nations? Absolutely! How about new diverse innovative energy sources that advance science and economic growth? You bet! It is absolutely necessary we practice good environmental stewardship to maintain healthy living conditions and conserve resources. But, are we going to buy into a left-wing propaganda scheme that says American progress and prosperity is destroying the planet - in order to increase the government's size, stunt American progress, and regulate our day to day lives? Not a chance! The main goal of this movement is to create a "crisis" to take capitalism, technological progress, and more specifically America, down a peg. Crisis is also the basis for research funding. No crisis, no money. Follow the money. It has very little to do with the environment, that's just the vehicle. We hear Al Gore, the poster boy for the radical environmental left, stating that a coming man made global warming catastrophe is "consensus" among scientists - when nothing is more further from the truth as you will see later in this column. The global warming fanatics say that anyone in power questioning the legitimacy of their claims is being paid off by big business - oil, manufacturing, etc. - yet billions are being made by the global warming lobby dwarfing any contributions to the opposing side.

Of course, none of use here at Rockanomics.com are climatologists, meteorologist, or anything like that. We don't have to be. There are legions of qualified scientists coming forward with accurate and more complete data that tells a different story than we're being fed. For your convenience and reference, we've compiled the big list of superb links below that when read thoroughly, pretty much blow Al Gore and the whole wacky Oscar bunch out of the water. Do us all a favor and sit all your brainwashed friends down and give them the real facts they're certainly not getting from teachers, the media, their parents, or the nutty bands they listen to.

In his lecture given at the Annual Conference of the Australian Environmental Foundation on September 8th in Melbourne, Carter debunks the usual hysterical claims with perfect clarity.

In another simple observation, the heart of the man-made-global-warming-is- destroying-the-planet argument is bases on promoting that historically, increases in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have resulted in an increase in global temperature. In fact, according to Timothy Ball, a noted Canadian climatologist, who has a Ph.D. in climatology from the University of London and taught at the University of Winnipeg for 28 years, increases in CO2 levels are actually the results of temperature rises, not their cause. Temperature rises are attributed to solar activity, and can be easily mapped along side increases in CO2, with the temperature rise preceding the CO2 rise by several years. Ball states "...the claim is that if CO2 goes up, temperature will go up. The ice core record of the last 420,000 years shows exactly the opposite. It shows that the temperature changes before the CO2. So the fundamental assumption of the theory is wrong. That means the theory is wrong. ... " Makes sense, right? Timothy Ball is just one example of the demonized global warming "skeptics". Recently, Heidi Cullen from the Weather Channel stated that any meteorologist certified by the American Meteorological Society who questions the so-called science behind the man-made global warming frenzy should have their certification revoked.
