Dry Run - Inside the Terrorism Toolbox Rockanomics.com Last night on AMC, I caught the last few scenes of the film True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. What blew my mind was not so much the explosive climactic action scene with Ahnold in the cockpit of a US Marines jet fighter, trying to save his daughter who's hanging off it by a couple fingers over the streets of Miami while a terrorist comes at him from the back with a machine gun and a knife ("You're fired!") . . . MG Terry Wolff, commander of the U.S. Forces Division-Central, speaks via satellite from Iraq with reporters at the Pentagon.
Joe Biden said that success in Iraq may be one of the great achievements of the Obama administration. Huh? Most of our soldiers will be home by summer and the Iraq government is doing well. What would the situation be today if we had not invaded Iraq?
Obama announced on Sept. 17 that he will scrap Bush's plans for a land-based missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic betraying long time allies. He claims it will be replaced with a ship-based system and, in response to critics, that the system must be updated because of recent intelligence out of Iran.
Hope, change and solid fuel boosters! Obama's olive branch is slapped down by a Sajjil-2 surface-to-surface missile that has a range of about 1,200 miles. Certainly, peace in our time is right around the corner.
